Matthew 6:33
This Scripture has been my motto when planning our studies. I try to make it a priority to get our Scriptures and Prayer in everyday. Sometimes it can be really hard. Especially when a certain 5 year old decides she doesn't want to sit and listen, or when a certain 1 year old wants to have my full attention. But the struggle is worth it!
We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
You can learn more about our Faith here
"Ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold,....Ye shall have eternal life." (2Nephi 31:20)
I love how he tells us to feast on the scriptures. I try to look for the best possible ways to stir up the hunger in my tribe for God's word. A few years ago we got rid of cable T.V. and instead used the funds to purchase DVD sets from Living Scriptures. These have proved to be a wonderful resource for our family!
In the past we have learned the scriptures through Scripture Journaling. We love this method of learning about the Scriptures! I used the Scripture story books that is produced by our Church as a study guide. You can read more about what we have done so far here or check under my post labels for "Scripture Journaling". You can see where we first got the idea here. I am currently praying and seeking for the right approach for our studies this coming year. My oldest is doing her own personal study, but I would still like to involve her in a family devotion. I am most likely going to incorporate our church magazines as much as possible. I need a simple plan this year, so that when baby arrives it will be something we can continue easily.
